You probably already knew this, but I just learned it today: Roman God Janus had the ability to look back and look forward at the same time. Depicted with two faces, he's the god of beginnings and endings, doorways, transitions and time. Hence, January is named in his honor. I also learned that there are about 31 million seconds in a year, scads of which have already ticked by on this second day of 2013. I'd like to live every single one of them not looking backward or forward at all, but just right smack in the middle of the moment.
